It is now four months I decided to go and paint every sunday morning on the Rode Torenkaai ( The red tower Quai) in Ghent.
Why? Because of the water and the surrounding atmophere.
It also was, and is, my intention to attract other artist to come and join, because working together gives that warm feeling of solidarity. It also results in a verry inspiring xenogamy and the 'plein air' way of painting is about the best exercise for the eye.
Until now the succes was rather moderate, but the few people who came to join was far worth the effort.

One day came the Syrian artist Samer Alagha, who now lives in Ghent, to join us. Since then he became a verry good friend artist and we make fun out of painting portraits.
Another sunday, the children of the neighborhood came to join. It was great to have them all armed with brusches and paint and see what children are able to.
As long as the weather allows, we will keep on going. So one day the quai will
be the unique place to be for the Ghent artists.
